About Upfront Rentals
Ufront Rentals was born out of pure user frustration.
Traditional car rental platforms felt like they were stuck in the 1990s—cluttered, opaque, and wildly inefficient.
Finding a reliable rental car with transparent terms shouldn't require maintaining complex spreadsheets or wasting hours jumping between browser tabs.
We built Upfront Rentals in 2023 to fix car search from the ground up: introducing automated workflows, side-by-side term comparisons, and modern AI integration to give travelers back their time and peace of mind.
Upfront Rentals features several tools that make finding car rentals faster :
- Reverse workflow - allows customers to add insurance and equipment once and not individually for each offer.
- Built-in 'Comparison tool' - that supports all rental properties, no need to copy paste information elsewhere.
- Built-in automation - the website also automatically adds winter equipment and senior/young driver age fees if required.
- Support for AI agents - customers can connect their local LLMs to our platform to search and book rentals using natural language.
- Filtering offers by rental terms - we support searching for offers by fields like deposit, border crossing, pets allowed, etc
Upfront Rentals helps customers find cheaper car rentals by :
- Partnering with SMBs that offer lower rates than the better known larger car rental brands.
- Minimizing our margins, sometimes as low as 5 euros per rental.
- Providing a 'price alert' tool that can be used to automate the search for a cheaper car rental.
Upfront Rentals helps customers avoid unexpected problems at pickup by :
- Vetting all the information provided by suppliers before adding them to the platform.
- Providing the full rental terms (requirements and limitations) before booking.
- Explicitly indicating the vendor's delivery guarantees, or lack of them.
- Showing an approximation of the offered rental's trunk space in liters instead of non-standard units of 'large suitcase' and 'small suitcase'.
At Upfront Rentals security is a priority :
